So the first week here, we went on this excursion to southern France, and it was the longest week of my life. I feel like I know all the other kids here way better than I should for how short it has been. We were all joking about how it felt like 3 weeks but really...it was so long. We stayed in a different hotel every night and let me tell you, that is not fun. Seriously though I have never felt so disgusting in my life. We were living out of teeny suitcases and none of us brought enough clothes. Also, our showers were almost always in the middle of the room so everyone in France plus your roommates could just watch you shower. What is up with that? haha We also hiked for 15 miles and canoed for 9 miles. (I crapped out after 5 miles the first day, but we'll pretend like i did all 15.) Basically we were camping but sleeping in real beds. It was fun though actually, we were in all these little towns that no one has really ever heard of and they were BEAUTIFUL. Seriously though it was super great bonding with everyone, and our bus driver Jackie! We had the same bus/bus driver all week and we loved him. He didn't speak any English and he thought we were hilarious. We also went to this little theme park, called Puy du Fou (Volcano of Crazy...yeah.) that was like medieval times themed, and it was literally just a bunch of shows. No rides, nothing else, just shows. I take it back...there was a carousel. Anyway there were lots of super cute guys, one of which named Greg we talked to for like 2 hours haha. He worked in the blacksmith area and he spoke perfect English, WITH A BRITISH ACCENT. Oh, and he looked like Liam Hemsworth. Can you say, WIN? One of the shows was a gladiator show, and they had this parade at the beginning with sooo many animals! They love animals there apparently. Anyways, there was a tiger, like 8 ostriches, 8 lions, a leopard, a bunch of ducks, camels, goats, like really think of an animal and it was probably in one of the shows. Including flamenco dancing horses. Who danced in water. You think I'm kidding. But I'm not. The night time spectacle was 2 HOURS LONG and it was freezing and super boring. Sorry to everyone who loved it. I don't know what show you were watching, but I wish I had seen that one. There were more animals and fireworks though, so that was a good part. Basically what I summed up from that trip: French people are weird.
Anyways, please enjoy some pictures from the trip, that I stole from other people who have fancier cameras and aren't too lazy to get them out :)
